"Securing the Future of Adaptive Waterskiing & Wakeboarding"
The BDWWA has been operating in a challenging environment for many years now. Participation has continued to decline and the efforts required to run the infrastructure of Heron are benefitting a relatively small number of full members and fewer courses.
The Trustees are corncerned that without major changes in both our Objects and delivery, the decline in participation could continue to the point at which the charity will not be sustainable.
The Trustees are therefore proposing an alternative model to address some of the challenges.
There are potential benefits of embracing a wider range of sports and activities, while remaining faithful to the original objectives and retaining waterskiing and wakeboarding as a core and key component of its offering. This then becomes something much more significant with broader appeal and the ability to change many more lives and benefit a far wider audience!
Access Adventures is an adaptive multi-sport charitable organisation with a similar mission and objectives, plus the same target market. The founders met through their love of waterskiing & wakebarding with the BDWWA and have a long history at Heron Lake. The Trustees of both the BDWWA and Access Adventures believe the two organisations would be stronger working together to achieve these shared goals.
The Trustees appreciate that BDWWA members will have questions and concerns. Please join us on Sun 3 Nov at Heron Lake for a presentation to help address these.
