The National Centre at Heron Lake is a great place to try waterskiing or wakeboarding, regardless of physical disability or learning ability.  We have first timers through to world champions using the facilities at Heron. The clubhouse has plenty of room to socialise, plus there are 3 wheelchair accessible toilets/ showers.

For all individuals or groups, equipment is provided. This includes wetsuits (or drysuits), buoyancy aids, helmets and a comprehensive range of skis and wakeboards for both regular or seated skiing.  Complimenting the basics is a range of adaptive equipment developed over 20 years by the BDWWA to accelerate the learning process including the Triple bar and Delga sling.

To get started all you need is your enthusiasm, your swim gear and a towel!

Regular sessions between May and October provide an opportunity to get involved. Beginners can take part in these sessions if enough notice is provided. BDWWA instructors and helpers are on hand to provide instruction tailored to individual skiers needs.

Email heronbookings@gmail.com to book a slot. See FAQs about club ski sessions here.

The BDWWA support many groups of people with physical or learning disabilities benefitting from the activities at Heron Lake, whether it’s waterskiing, wakeboarding or inflatable rides.

We will work with you to assess the requirements of your group, and then plan a tailored session incorporating the most suitable activities.

Group sessions can be individually booked or become a regular event in a group’s calendar during the months from April to September and generally between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Why not make a weekend of it?
